Richard:

Received the pictures, thanks. I'm challenged as to why the parts look so
similar but none of the part numbers are the same. That is very strange to
me.

I did some research on the casting part numbers you listed. They are all
associated with the models 110, 110A, 114 & 114A Roughage Mills. I found
that I have original Operators manuals for 110A and 114A Roughage Mill and
Feed Grinder each dated in 1946 and both show a tractor driven knife
grinder. The casting part numbers listed in these manuals are very close
(7045C & 7049C) but only one matches = 7001C. Vely strange. Maybe Model 110
and 114 parts would match up as opposed to the A versions. But even more
strange the castings don't look like the ones on the pictures you sent me.
The pictures you sent me look more like those used with the model 62 Hay
Chopper & Model 64 Ensilage Harvester.

My guess at this time is maybe a Model 110 and 114 Roughage Mill Parts
Catalog might find a part number match. Hope this helps.

Richard:

I have an original Operators Manual OM-E2-749 (dated July 1949) for the JD
No. 62 Hay Chopper and No. 64 Ensilage Harvester which also includes the
parts list. It includes a description of a tractor mounted, belt driven
Knife Grinder and also the exploded parts list. But none of the numbers
match up to those you have listed. It is described as a No 3508E Knife
Grinder for "A" & "B" Tractors and a No. 3569E Knife Grinder for G Tractors.
It shows mounting and operating instructions. But those numbers don't match
up to your numbers nor do any of the part numbers. So it must be a different
model.

I can scan the two page description and one page parts diagram and attach
them to an email if you think they might be of help somehow.

HELP,
I need some information on the TRACTOR-OPERATED KNIFE GRINDER.
This was mounted on the tractor frame and run by the belt pully to
sharpen FORAGE HARVESTER/HAY CHOPPER blades. The only refrence I can
find is in the Operation Care and Repair of Farm Machinery books #16
through #26 editions. Is it shown in the Hay Chopper Manual?
I will be glad to buy any information that is available.
It has J-15778 stenciled on the wheel guard. This could be the model
number. Also Part Numbers on all castings-7050-C, 7051-C, 7001-C,
M-7047-C, M-7048-C. JD is also on all castings.

Thanks, Richard
