I use Topogee (spelling?) gaskets. They are semi-hard black rubber and work
very well. I know many who use them for years before replacing them.
Personally, I order a new set each year as they are not very costly. I've
found that Miami Valley Gasket Co. in Dayton, OH is a great place to work
with. They are happy to help you figure out what you need and are good about
cutting custom gaskets for you. They also stock other steam related things
like rope packing, etc.

What type of material do ya'll use for your handhole gaskets? The
gaskets supplier that we use were I work is recommending something called
CPE. The gaskets that were in the boiler were red rubber. The gasket
supplier said that red rubber was only good up to 180°.
Thanks
