There is a good reason for that lunging in tight turns with the ford. My
friend who helped get me into the cattle business is a Chevy man he had his new
4 wheel drive pickup over a while back and went down to the front pasture to
look at the cows. When he tried to back up a steep wet hill the pickup just
spun out on the rear wheels. A while later I had my Ford down there and tried
the same thing it had no trouble backing right up the hill as it has very
good positraction in low range 4 wheel drive. Yes I notice that it will lung
when you try to make tight turns on hard surface in low range. But I never get
stuck either.
We looked at all of the pickups when we bought our Ranger , when we went to
look at the small Chevy we both got into the cab and it took only about 10
seconds to say goodby to the salesman. I have never been so cramped up in a
vehicle in my life. At 6 ft. I need to have room to spread out a little.
Can't say as to how the Chevy drives as I never drove one of the new one but
i found after riding in a few GM products that my head hits the roof and my
knees are are in my lap. We went to town a couple of years ago to rent a car
while are's was in the shop and they offer a Pontiac i sat down in it and had
to let the seat lean back to keep from hitting my head. right beside it was a
Ford Toraus it was actually lower to the ground by quite a bit but I could
wear my hat while sitting in it. If I can't sit comfortably in a car or truck
then I go down the streeet to the next dealership. I have never been one to
buy a car or truck just because its a certain brand I test them out and buy
what I like. I really liked the Toyota but the $30k price was a bit more than
I wanted to spend at the time. Dang I wish sometimes that would have bit the
bullet and bought it anyway.
