In the past, I have used machining coolant concentrate (which is  basically 
oil with a lot of emulsifiers to permit it to mix with water in  about a 5-10% 
oil-to-water ratio) as an emulsifier additive for a manual  trans.
 
In fact, the old original liquid Gunk engine degreaser was exactly that: a  
little oil and a lot of emulsifier !
 
I can get some info on where to get straight emulsifier if you want.
