[AJD] 1950 A surging at idle

Try this site. http://www.robertscarbrepair.com/tip1.htm You also
want to look at your throttle disk. If it is worn at the top, it allows
air to leak and result in a rough idle. Also, check your throttle shaft
and bushing there should not be any slop, but they shouldn't bind. The
next thing to look at; by the throttle disk in the carb housing, there
are one or two small holes, depending on what carb you have. You need
some real fine wire(I use wire from my wire feed welder), take and poke
that wire into the holes. Those are some of your idle passages. Before
you put the brass plugs back in, take your air gun (wand) and blow out
all of the passages, after you drill and poke. You should also pull the
nozzle and clean that all up. I realize that really isn't suppose to
affect the idle, but it all works together. Also, make sure your vent
passage is clear.

If you want, you can send the carb to me, and I will take a look at it.

Duane,

I did pull all the plugs. It has not been
drilled out since I had a carb shop work on it about 5
years ago. I did run tip cleaners through all the
passages and orafices..
