[AJD] A Oil Filter

Dave,

Along with the other suggestions, it could be that there is a lot of
oil/water mix in the oil filter can. Over time, as you probably already
know, will make a very thick sludge. Could be that it is thick enough to not
allow any air into the can to displace the goop being pulled down by the
filter cover. The vacuum or suction caused will not allow the cover to come
off. You might try a small screw driver or pry tool and see if you could get
one side pulled loose and let some air in. Also could be that the rubber
seal which is probably very hard has stuck to the oil filter cover and will
not let it down because it is caught onto the rust, dirt, etc that has
gotten up into that small space between the sides of the cover and the oil
filter can. Just a couple of suggestions.

Duane
