Phil-

They were built between 1914 and 1924. John Deere entered the tractor sales business when they bought the company that manufactured these. They are extremely collectable now. There were 4 models: L, LA, R, and N. The N was the most plentiful. Roughly 30,000 were made. I've heard from collectors that N's(which were built 1917-1924) built later on were equipped with automotive style steering, and are more desirable now than other Waterloo Boys. Seems to me ANY John Deere that old would be very, very desirable(if Green is what you like!). I hope someone pipes up with more detailed info on these things for you. I've read lots about these tractors, but my mind is quite like a sieve! If you have the ways and means to do it, by all means post some pictures! I'd love to see the beast!
