Subject: [AT] JD "Waterloo Boy"

I have a friend who is looking at a John Deere "Waterloo Boy". He
doesn't know too much about it, not even sure what the proper
designation of the tractor should be. He believes it was manufactured
somewhere around 1918 with an engine manufactured by Waterloo
Manufacturing, possibly the first tractor marketed by JD with a gas
engine. He asked me what I might know about it, but all I could tell
him was that just about any old JD seems to be collectible.

Can anyone shed some light on just what this thing is, or just how
collectible it might be?

Thanks -
