Cecil,
We have a couple of those Brita filtering pitchers.
All the coffee water comes from them and I seldom
have to clean the coffee maker. :o)

Phil
P.S. We have the pitchers to filter the very strong
chlorine out of our "drinking" water.
We're cattywumpus from the water plant.

Ralph, I've cleaned my coffee pots for years with white
vinegar. We buy the white vinegar in gallon jugs at Sams Club and
use it only for cleaning. As far as I know, it is just a simple
acid. It works very well on my Mr Coffee coffeemaker which seems
to slow down from minerals in the water clogging up the orifice.
I generally run the vinegar thru twice and then clear fresh water
twice and that does it for another couple months.
