Do you have a 3/4 adapter for your 1/2" drive set?
That will fit. If you look close you might see the threads on the outside of 
the plug chewed up from pipe wrenches
or cold chisels also.
Or you can weld a cut off suare headed bolt to a piece of pipe and you are 
home free.
