[AJD] '41 B Transmission

I wouldn't worry about the status of the shifting if you want to play with
getting the engine started, but of course you won't have any fun driving it
around until you get the tranny shifting.

Pulling the top cover is no big deal, take out the bolts and since the
steering shaft goes through the superstructure above the cover plate you can
just grab the steering wheel, lift up, and rotate the cover to one side.
>From there you can take a pry bar and work the shifters back and forth,
squirt oil around, and get things all loosened up.

Others may be more cautious, but I'd get it loosened up, put the cover back
on (takes a little more patience than lifting it off, you have to get the
shifters into their slots) and drive it around. If you've got a bearing
going out you'll hear it, especially when you put it under a bit of a load.
If it's quiet I'd leave it together and not worry about it.
