[AJD] Legit JD Seat or overpriced Repro?

My Grandfather had and old hay rake,that had a seat like. I believe it
was horse drawn . Don't remenber all the details,it went to the scrap
yard in the early sixties.

Take a look at the auction ad in the Green Magazine, November 2004, page
75.
There is a seat that looks like one we have been talking about.  The
little parts for the "M" are in tact.

This one apparently has a piece broken out on the "M".  What piece of JD
equipment were these seats used on?  I don't think I have ever seen one
anywhere in person.

Be aware that these seats are very prone to having parts of the letters
broken out as they were relatively delicate. Prices are less of course
for damaged seats Greg
