Thanks Jim and Chet. Appreciate your response and I have used the gauge as recommended and it works fine... Differential movement .003 thousands which is within the tolorences...
Chet,
I have a circular dial gauge. I was wondering what the two adjustment screws on the side of the case are used for, one is directly above the plunger the other to the right at about 2 O'Clock..
Thanks

>This may be off subject but it is associated. I recently purchased a Dial Indicator to assist with the reassembly of the transmission of my 530. Problem is that the darn gauge does not come with any instructions. I have been searching the web but with few adequate results. Doess anyone know of a web site that would have operating instructions for this precision (Chinese made) gauge??
