I believe any breed with(I hate when I can't find the words, Iknow I know it...) thoose hard thingies between their ears will do. I have seen our goats learning our cats to fly and I've seen that predators and dogs avoid them. But I think bigger is better I wouldn't get a goat as small as fox for protection. There are also some problems with goats, as pointed out they will not only eat what the sheeps don't eat, they will eat everything and this gets you to problem nr 2: Since they eat everything (even tractorwiring, right Dean) you need to have them inside your fence and that can be hard. I don't know about american sheepfences but none of what I've seen in Sweden will stop our goats.
