Well, the German auto and armaments industry (among others) used slave labor 
from concentration camps during 1939-1944.  In Indonesia and India and 
Pakistan, especially, "inferior" castes or peoples are frequently employed 
in factories making goods for export at slave or near-slave level 
conditions.   Thankfully, there is a growing movement worldwide trying to 
ameliorae the worst among these situations by setting minimum standards that 
overseas retailers have to observe.  Just because something is "priced 
right" is not sufficient reason to purchase it, especially if it's something 
one doesn't really need or has been told to want by an advertising industry 
cynically appealing to the very worst instincts of middle and lower middle 
class Americans.   That's ONE reason I don't shop at Wal Mart.   And never 
will.
