[AT] OT - Chevy Autotrac transmission question

I may be wrong, but don't most of those "switches" require some kind of
vaccum to activate on the transmission end?

Thanks guys, It sounds like I should avoid this one but I've never shied
from a mechanical challenge.
 	The lights did come on when I pressed the buttons so it may be
some sort of failure to latch or a indicator problem.
 	I think I heard things happen near the transfer case on occasion.
Should I be able to hear the elecric clutches with the ignition on and the
engine off?  Would I hear them pick-up and drop-out?
