Thanks for the post. I enjoyed it. It's not far from how we do it over  here. 
Except once it's warmed up and plowing and we kill it accidentally we can  
usually get it going again with a hand crank. Incidentally, I learned something, 
 I have an extra long hand crank in my arsenal. When I installed the front 
blade  on my cub I discovered the use for the longer crank.
