spark checker (was Re: [AT] Chineese yunk--now vice grips

Call me simple, (or just plain lazy), but I usually clamp the plug base with 
a battery jumper cable end.  The other end can go to any bare surface, or 
ground battery post if need be.  Seems to work well.
