I don't know if this helps but my MF35 (sn 243030) has the following:
Front wheels:
Red rims with grey ends of axles
Rear Wheels:
Grey rims, red centers and the axle ends (I don't know what to call 
them) are grey.
I've had this tractor since '89 and I think the paint is original.
