[AJD] AR Head removal

Chris C.,
         On the AR you are restoring, did you take the head off of with the 
block still attached to the tractor? I'm trying to but when sliding the 
head forward it hits on a "cross member" in the bottom of the frame. It 
lacks about 1 1/4 - 1 1/2" of being off of the studs. What should I try?
