The original serial number registers housed in the archives of John Deere Company contain production information on most vintage John Deere Tractors from the Waterloo Boy through the New Generation. The information available varies considerably from tractor to tractor but may include bu9ild date, ship date, branch house, destination, and codes indicating original configuration.

Several years ago the TwoCylinder Club published Production Resisters in book form covering the Unstyled Model "B " (SN 1000-59999), the unstyled Model "G" (SN 1000-12999), and the Waterloo-built "30" series tractors.

I believe that these are sold out and have heard of no plans to continue the series, although well-used copies continue to circulate among enthusiasts.

The public no longer has direct access to the John Deere Company Archives. However, the Two-Two Cylinder Club will provided tractor serial number research. Cost to Club members is $12.00 for a single research and $10.00 each for additional researches ordered at the same time. Persons who are not members of the Two-Cylinder Club may order researches for $15.00 each plus applicable shipping.
