John I had the same thing with my insurance when i asked for a 4 wheel  
walker they also follow the medicare rules. I was ask if I could walk across the  
room and that was enough to deny my walker. Funny I could get an old two wheel  
slide along walker at half price though. 
I hope they reconsider these ridiculous rules that keep us old people at  
home because we can't afford those high price outfits.
