Wendy's makes burgers to order on a Just In Time basis.  You order it  and 
they put it together they are not made in batches sitting in "inventory"  
getting soggy or cold.
 
Like anything else there are many good and bad examples of deployment of  
JIT.  If done right it provides flexibility, reduces cost and improves  quality.  
When done wrong or misapplied, like anything else, the results  can be the 
opposite.
