I have a 504C which is the same baler only in the 4 X 5 size. I also have a
605F that I have not used yet. My first one was a 605A. Vermeer makes the
tightest core of any balers in the industry. The real trick to getting a bale
to last in the weather is to have the string as tight as possible. There
are a few aftermarket twine tensioners on the market. The tighter the twine,
the moe solid the outer layer is and the bale will shed the water much better.
