A friend of mine has a Massey Ferguson 1001 loader (S#653100388) and
is in need of a water pump. He has no manuals on this loader which is
mounted backwards on what looks like a regular tractor. Does anyone know
anything about this loader and does it use the same engine as Massey
Ferguson tractor.
Thanks, Ernst

You have a lucky friend!!!!1 I had the opportunity to work at a MF dealer
in the late 60's and we used one of these loaders to move equipment around the
lot. It was the greatest thing for a 14 year old kid to drive!!!!!!!!! The
boss used to say whenever that loader started, I was attached to it somehow!
The engine on ours was a continental. Sealed Power used to have water
pumps for them. However, I would think that the local NAPA store would have
them. If you cannot find one, I am a HY-Capacity dealer, and they probably list
one. They are not expensive on pumps. I got one from them for my MF1155
diesel and saved about $50 over NAPA.
