Mike,

Please know that you and the family and friends are in our thoughts and
prayers on the loss of your Dad. Take care of yourself and may your
memories become treasures of comfort.

LeRoy,

I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember you telling me of your caring
for
him. I know you will miss him greatly and from what I remember, you
couldn't have helped but to make an impact on his life.

Unfortunately I only know too well this week what you are going through.
I
just returned this evening from south central PA after burying my own
father, who passed away suddenly and totally unexpectedly on Tuesday.
He
died of a massive heart attack at the age of 58 without ever showing any
signs of heart problems (or at least letting us know of any). One of
the
central themes of celebrating his life was his love of farming and his
love
for John Deeres. We had a table full of his memorabilia at the viewing
and
funeral, most of which revolved around those two aspects of his too
short
life.

Didn't think today would mean much when I got up this morning but it
turned
out that
it has. Today I lost one of my best friends and I wish I had him back.
That friend was my
father. After 29 years of caring for him as a quadriplegic, he finally
bridged the final gap in
his life. As I sit here and type this small tribute, I can only think
of
things I wish I had said
and did for him. I fell short with some things and I'm sure he
appreciated
those things
that I was able to do.

Tonight, I wish I still had him here to guide me through a few more
years.
I always felt cheated
in that we couldn't do the things normal father and son do especially
restoring and showing
tractors.

I hope I'll see him again some day to tell him what this day meant to me
and
what
he meant to me. Hopefully, I did make some difference in his life..

Sorry for the spam,

LeRoy
