Actually they are different.
White gas will gum up like regular gas if stored for a long time.
Coleman fuel lasts forever. Well worth the extra cost when you consider how often most people use thier coleman lantern of stove.

White gas was Gasoline without the lead, it used for Coleman lamps and
stoves mostly. But could be used in anything that did not need the lead or that
the lead would plug up. then Coleman started selling special Coleman fuel (its
nothing but white gas at a higher price)
