My recollection of "White" gas is equivalent to what we now buy as Coleman
Lantern Fuel. But I'm not very confident of my 40's and 50's memory any
more. :-)

In the late 50's I remember that some service
stations had White gas. Does anyone know what
this gas was and what was it used for?
Was this a local thing, nort Louisiana, East
Texas?
