It might be interesting to note that floating bridges are made with concrete
pontoons. Have concrete boats out here too.

Actually, a lot of civil engineering schools sponsor concrete canoe race
teams- UW Madison holds the championship this year. They make some
pretty exotic mixes, the stuff will float. The trick is to get the
strength in there. Vermiculite is a common ingrediant.
