When I worked in farm machinery repair oh so many years ago, we had a home 
made jig (two pieces of heavy channel about 12 inches long, and about 1/8" 
apart) that held the knife vertically, supported on the knife's backbone (with the 
section down in the 1/8" gap) - you could then just hit the back end of the 
section with a hammer to shear the rivets off.
