[AT] How to test a fuel gauge/Sender??--Rickey

I have tested many gauges by putting a hot wire  on the hot side and then 
grounding the other side it won't hurt it because its  made to do just that. Just 
be sure to use the proper voltage for the gauge 6 , 8  or 12 volts.
the needle will either jump to the full or empty side  depending on type.
