I've seen plenty of repaired drive housings, the secret is
to go to the trouble of clamping it together with a through
bolt before any grinding or welding takes place. Alignment
is everything..

However FWIW, from Delco books, the starter is #11113092 and
the housing part #1943760. 
The housing is not common to other starter #s..
