Mike, thanks, good information.
Went and got the beast started and houled home today.
The fuel filters were plugged solid and it was run out
of fuel. Got that straightened out and it started
fairly easily. MAN, what a sound!! With twin stacks
and small mufflers it really talks. Almost sounds
like a Detroit. 'Course I'm more used to turbo
diesels and their smoother sound. This thing has
front counterweights and loaded tires and weighs
almost as much as the Nichols and Shepard steamer!!
A little TLC and she'll be in the field earning her
keep.
Kinda fun loading it as the _short_ wheelbase means it
is more like an old Bobcat, except much taller. Just
putting it in gear lets you feel it rock, nothing
really unstable but more pronounced than a front end
loader. Can't imagine what it's like in road gear,
not sure I'll try. :-)
Think now maybe I can get some shop time of my own in,
got a couple projects I really want to dig into, but
that's another story.
