[AT] Scruffy 2n ford

Help-- wiring problem .   2n ford coverted by previous owner to 12 v 
with kit.  Works fine, but I would like to include the ammeter in the 
system.  Right now there is a green idiot light.   Ammeter is 
mechanically ok- and shows slight discharge when a 12v headlight is 
wired through it-- (it is the type of  ammarter with no posts-- the wire 
is continuous across the back.

PO has not got the instructions.   I have owned "Scruffy" for only a 
couple of days, but outside of no brakes working and a huge exhaust leak 
(driving it home was an exiting experience-- had to plan well ahead to 
coast to a stop) it is great mechanical shape.  Has been carefully 
parked outside in the weather for the last 10 years I know of, but  will 
be given 3 meals a day and a good bed from now on.

Maybe you can't use the ammeter with the alternator system?   What do I 
know-- if it "ain't like a Model A" my technical training is not up to
