[AJD] Late Three Brush Generator Specifics Found.

Paul,
I believe that wire is indeed the resistor - and with the 3 position switch,
that would indicate the system is set up for a cutout.  Unusual for a 1952
model.  Does it seem to work as is?  The light switch for use with a voltage
regulator is just an on-off switch, I believe.
