Sounds like you know Copley!
Manlius, NY is near SE of Syracuse and in a general sense along I90 about
half-way between Albany and Buffalo.  It is about 360 miles from Copley
Ohio.

Potsdam, NY, the home of the Clarkson University Golden Knights, is about
150 miles northeast of Syracuse.  It is closer to Ottawa Ontario by quite a
bit.  Potsdam is a very lovely place this time of year for another week or
two.  While going to school there it snowed at least a little every
September and I can remember walking a mile to class at -40 F in January.
My rule of thumb was that you should wear your thermal underwear for a walk
that long if it gets lower than -20 F.  Warmer than that didn't require more
than the normal jacket and ear mittens.  You get acclimated to the weather
and very few germs can live at those temperatures :-).  The natives tended
to take their car batteries to bed with them in Jan-Feb.
