It does sound like fuel problem, most of those carbs need rebuilt anyway at this point
You always want to be VERY nervous about "the pony motor just needs a crank seal" as this translates to "the pony motor is displaying typical wear and will require having the crankshaft reground, new bearings, and probably rings and a valve job while you're at it".
I always hate when someone asks me for a pony motor seal as I know what they really need
As Brandon and Kevin know, there's nothing like see that big old long hood stretching away in front of you when you're operating an R,80,whatever. The big diesels are different than any of the other tractors
