[AJD] 8 Volt Batteries

This was a pretty common aftermarket boost for 6 volt systems.  You bought 8
volt bulbs for any lights, put in the battery, and boosted the voltage
regulator a bit so it would charge.

I work on my father in law's Farmall H with this system from time to time.
It was upgraded before my time.
