	We all went when our time came to go, Frank. If I remember right
we didn't have much choice. I wondered when my son was born if there was
going to be a war when he became draft age but it didn't happen. I don't
begrudge anyone the time I spent on active duty - 5 years - and would do
it again in a second if it were necessary. I also had an 8 year obligation.
Was called for a physical in late fall of 1951 and enlisted in January
of 1952. Spent 3 years overseas. Two of my brothers were in the 82nd
Airborne Division. They went with the draft and volunteered for Airborne.
I doubt anyone had the balls to pick on either of them - in or out of the
service.
