[AJD] WFE tread width

When JD specifies the adjustable range on a wide front end, what exactly is
the measurement. Centerline to centerline of the front tires? The a 38"
fixed would be 3' 2" from centerline of each front tire? Or on an
adjustable 48" to 80", 4' to 6' 8"???

Then if this is so, one couldn't have the right front wheel in the furrow
when plowing since the nominal setting on a the rear wheels is 25" from
centerline to inside of the rear tire.

Could this be the reason a 38" fixed front end was called a wheat land front
end? Seems strange to put a fixed WFE with this limitation on a row crop
tractor.
