Chris:

Interesting stuff. I would be a little suspicious of the numbers being
quoted about the production numbers of only 224 Slant dash AN's. JD did not
maintain the production records of which A or B tractors were shipped with
the Slant Dash. As you know, there are two kinds of AN's one with a 10"
single front wheel with 38" rear tires and then the one with the 16" single
front tire and 42" rears. $1,000 for an AN that needs a bunch of work is
over priced IMHO. Unless it has some options that are worth a bunch.

Subject: [AJD] Lindeman Update

I met up with the seller of the Lindeman Crawler
yesterday, and I believe that we are very close to
closing the deal. I took two pictures of the
'complete' Lindeman and will get more of both of them
once the deal is closed.

This is the link to the two pictures.

Lindeman #1, Is up on a trailer, it has the
track removed from the RH side, and the final drive
housing removed (it was being welded up) We found all
of the parts needed to put it back together minus the
main track pin. The seller has never seen this
tractor run, He has had it for about 10 years. It
turns over and has oil pressure, radiator looks like
it will hold water, the only cranks/welds found are
the final drive housings have both been repaired, and
the was a makeshift blade that was welded to it at one
time, no removed, that will need a little grinder
work to make them dissappear.

Lindeman #2, has not tracks, no radiator,
might have finals, I didn't see any drive sprockets.
No crab, mag, etc.. I guess it could be made
complete with a lot of $$ thrown at it, I'll take it
for parts until the other one is complete. It does
have track frames with rollers in them.

Extra stuff, there are two of the Lindeman rock
guards, but it looks like they both go on the same
side. there is also an Extra track frame. One if
bent up badly on the parts machine.

I made an offer higher than what I mentioned
here first, and he is now thinking of what else he
might throw in to get the price up a little more, so
I think we are close. I post more pictures and the
final results when the deal is closed.

He also has a slant dash A with a Narrow front
for $1000 that is stuck, and needs a lot of cosmetic
work. He said that there were something like only 224
or 226 built of slant dash AN's... I'll put pics of
it up in the JD folder you will find if you take the
link I posted up above.

I will be looking for lots of Lindeman parts
in the near future. I was suprised that Ebay was
seriously devoid of anthing Lindeman, guess I will
have to start taking the 2 cylinder club magazine and
green magazine again.

                               Chris
