I've been looking for one too for the same reasons as you. I saw one sell a
couple of years ago for $700. It ran and was basically field ready and had a
2 row corn head and a small (maybe 8 foot) grain platform. It would fit in
my barn and I'd get a kick out of harvesting a couple of acres with it each
year. I went to a sale Tuesday evening after work and watched a John Deere
40 combine sell. It is similar in size-maybe a wee bit bigger and came with
a 2row wide corn head and a 9foot grain platform. It sold for $600 but I got
there just as the auctioneer said "Sold-$600" so I missed it. I'm not a big
Deere fan and would rather have the Massey combine but I would have paid
$600 for it.
