Who has the insight/info. on McCormick-Deerings D-50?

My family & I went to Hershey Park last weekend for the Hershey after dark Halloween event and there was a somewhat complete (but needing much work), D-50 at the entrance to the Haunted Harvest section of the park.

I'd never seen a D-50 before and thought it looked like a nice heavy/sturdy small tractor that would put out some nice HP. Tires were shot and distributor was missing. Looks like it was just pulled out of the tree line on a farm. Branches were growing up through the steering wheel. Wish I had my camera with me!

It had a sediment bowl on the right side?, I thought that the "D" would have meant it was a start on gas Diesel engine or maybe it could burn both depending on the operators choice? And it had a tool box attached right on the top center of the hood! There were some huge spark plugs in the box which looked like they had been in there for 30 years!

They must be pretty rare since I've never seen one before. How many were made? When were the made. How many are still around in operation, what do they usually go for?

Any info. would be appreciated.

Randy
