Lane, I don't think this is necessarily a positive/neg ground difference.
What is happening is that some senders have high resistance full/low res
empty and some are backward. More a mfg type thing. There is also a
specified resistance for the max side that would vary from mfg to mfg and
need to coincide with the guage. you could get a generic sender as long as
the sweep and resistance values match.
