Well, I thought about the starter jamming myself. The engine was still
stuck after I took the starter off the tractor (forgot to mention that).
Rocking the tractor in gear with the starter off didn't accomplish much
(starter out of the tractor). That's when I got a hub socket wrench (for
my Blazer.. fit really well.. need to remember that since I don't have a
crank for this tractor) on the crank dogs and PRIED. It finally came
loose after liberal usage of cuss words and force. After putting the
starter and plugs back in it started right up like nothing had happened.

Like I said, I'm mystified.
