[AJD] Overhaul kits? Dumb question???

If one buys new JD pistons and rings for our two cylinders from JD prior to
the 20 series are the pistons cast iron? And if one buys new piston kits
from the aftermarket suppliers for the same series are these pistons
aluminum?  I'm assuming for the 20 and 30 series all pistons are aluminum no
matter the source. 

Haven't had to buy new pistons before. 

Ok, then in a addition, it is my understanding that the aluminum pistons
will make the tractor a little more responsive but the cast iron pistons
will allow slightly more power because they don't conduct the heat away as
fast. Is this fact or a wives tale?
