Very true, Charlie.  I think most stations still require that the stick 
readings be recorded at the end of each shift, or at least the gallonage 
reading from each pump.  It is necessary to control excess evaporation.  If 
20 or 30 gallons per shift evaporate, the vidio cameras probably swing into 
high gear to see who is driving for free.
