[AT] Gas tank sealers

Thanks for the reply, Ron. I have plenty of muriatic acid - it's the stuff sold for cleaning or maintain swimming pools or whirlpools. Is there any reason that won't work? What type of concentration do you use? and for how long do you let it sit before you risk eating a hole through your tank. The tank walls aren't very thick, and it sure isn't very easy to see down inside to tell if it's clean or not. Any special tricks here?

I was thinking of using a sealer not to seal up holes, but to coat the tank walls so that the rust won't reform. What's to prevent the rust from coming back after it's treated with the acid? The tank won't always be full - historically it has usually been half full or close to empty for extended periods.

Thank you for your help,
