The cats that I worked on didn't have anyway to  grease the tracks. Grease 
would collect dirt and sand and cause twice the wear  as not having anything on 
them.  One thing i do notice is that new  inexperianced operators like to 
tighen the tracks up tight. this will cause more  wear and also cause you to lose 
a track when turning. You need to set the dip  between the front roller and 
the first small roller so that you have between 1  1/2 qnd 2 inches of drop.  
The more clay in the soil the more the drop. The  loose tracks will flop around 
and clean themselves. they also will stay on  better as they tend to drop into 
place better when loose.
