[AT] Gaskets for Zenith carburetors

I had a reply composed to you last night, John, and then decided not to
send it. What I wanted to tell you was to search for a Wisconsin engine
dealer that has been around for ages but that hasn't kept up with the
business. We happen to have one here in Evansville. The whole shop is
filled with NOS parts. There are one or two "hired help" types that are
around most of the time, but the owner won't even come in to the shop
unless you call him on the phone with a question that he can't answer by
describing to the help where to look for stuff. Whenever the owner
comes in, it's an automatic $20 charge for whatever you're buying. If
you're buying a bunch of stuff, then you can get a pretty good deal, but
there have been times when I didn't get much for my $20. It's a strange
way of doing business, but when you're looking for NOS stuff, it's often
worth it.

So the question is: Are any of the Zenith gaskets on Wisconsin engines
the right ones for your application? If they are, then a Wisconsin
connection may be of help to you. If it's any help to you, I have a
listing of Wisconsin dealerships that was printed back in the 50's.
That may give you some leads.

Larry

I know how to make gaskets, I buy the material by the
yard when I do a tractor restoration to make gaskets
that I know are not available. The Zenith gaskets are
a bit harder to make than a normal gasket. I feel if I
can find a source for them at a reasonable price, it
is worth it to me to be able to buy them and spend my
time doing something more productive.

I do like Smitty's scanner suggestion and thank
everyone for all the sources they suggested. I checked
them out and did not find one with single gaskets for
sale.
